Pragnya’s questions for me:

1.First thing you do in the morning

I drink a glass of warm water with lemon.

2.Why did you start blogging?

I am blogging since 2014. But I got more serious about blogging from the last two years. So, I call earlier years as my learning years. I am still learning but now I feel more confident and comfortable in terms of writing on different topics and genres.

3.Favorite movie based on a book

I haven’t watched a lot of movies based on a book but to name one then Two States

4.One thing you wish had known before blogging

Why one? Just joking. Blogging is vast and deep. There are so many things that I still don’t know. But yes, SEO was something that I had no clues about. I had no idea of the terms like Moz, DA, PA, etc.

5.A quote you live by

No matter how big or small the task is, always give your 100%.

6.Who inspires you in life?

I feel, there are many people sometimes incidences too which inspires us. It could be a small kid trying to ride the bike on the walking trail. I get inspired by seeing him/her trying hard to go straight. Sometimes, my source of inspiration could be an old aunty trying to talk and explain herself in broken English without feeling shy. Frankly speaking, I get inspired by small things because that’s where we all start. Mostly, we see successful people and call it as our inspiration source. Yes, they definitely are a great source of inspiration but they must have started somewhere. If I follow someone then I try to listen to their initial day’s stories. There are a few people who I want to listen over and over. One of them is Prof.Sudha Murthy.

7.What’s your favorite social media and why?

Because of blogging, I have to be active on social media but I cannot be present there all the time. I have my account on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+. Sometimes, I like Instagram’s stories or checking Facebook Status of my friends and co-bloggers. But I like Twitter if I have to pick one. There is no specific reason why I like Twitter more but personally, I do not feel overwhelmed when I am using it. But that’s my personal opinion.

8.When did you realize your passion for blogging?

Blogging didn’t happen to me all of a sudden. I think it was there all the time in the form of my short travelogues, articles which I used to write for Magazines (I have contributed many articles for various Magazines), News Papers (I used to author Parenting column for Austin South Asian Newsletter). I was always inclined towards writing. But after I came to the USA and used to have some hours in hand before my daughter’s birth, I started to pen down my travel experiences in Marathi. Later, when I took up the mommy role, I got a new dimension for my writing. I started to write my parenting experiences as an Immigrant mom. As I was writing more often, I started to like it even more and then finally decided to start MothersGurukul. And that’s when I stepped into pure blogging.

9.Chai at tapri or coffee at café

Chai at tapir and yes, along with Khari.

10.Your comfort food, if any?

Idli-Sambar

11.The Genre you love most in content creating is…
