How many of you have watched the movie “Tribhanga”? What are your thoughts about the movie and also on the sexual abuse that has briefly shown in the movie? Whenever I see any such scenes or cases, I feel how the child must have gone through? Sometimes, kids don’t even understand what is going on with them. And they don’t understand the need to let their parents know about it. And in other cases, kids realize that something is not right. But they cannot tell that openly. Sometimes, it is hard for the parents to believe it because their known people are involved in this. Talking about the movie “Tribhanga” then, as a viewer, it was just a scene that Antara Deshpande has played as young Anuaradha. But what amazed me was how a young girl could understand the depth and intensity of the scene and bring those emotions on screen. I was fortunate to have a conversation with this young and talented child actress Antara Deshpande and her mom Radhika Deshpande who is also an accomplished actress.
Today on Baton Baton Mein, I have none other than Antara Deshpande herself. Antara has acted in a few Marathi movies such as ‘Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Asta’, ‘Duniyadaari’, ‘Ekulti Ek’, and ‘Shutter‘. Tribhanga is her first Bollywood movie.
Along with Antara, I have Radhika Deshpande – Antara’s mom, on the show. Radhika Despande is an accomplished actor. Along with acting, she is a solo traveler, writer, director, producer, storyteller, and warli painting artist. She is the founder of Radhika Creations (acting school). Radhika has acted in many Marathi and Hindi serials and movies. To name a few then ‘Svarajyarakshak Sambhaji’, ‘Honar Soon Mi Hya Gharachi’, ‘Crime Petrol’, ‘Vanilla-Strawbery-Chocolate‘. She is also an actor for ‘Career Guru’ on Zee 24 Taas. ‘Aai Kuthe Kaay Karte‘ on Star Pravah is her recent serial in which she is playing the role of Devika.
This mommy-daughter duo is so sweet and super-talented. They are each other’s critics, mentors, and acting buddies. This interview is very special for two reasons. First, this is Radhika and Antara’s first ever interview together. And I am very happy that it is happening at Baton Baton Mein Podcast. Second that this is my first time having a child on my podcast. I am sure you will enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
