Dr. Hari Joshi- a Hindi writer, satirist, novelist, and poet-why it is so important to have a hobby

Today on Baton Baton Mein, I have a well-known personality from Hindi literature. He is famous for his sharp satire and thoughts on current issues and has many feathers on his hat. He has done a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a professor for many years. During this time, he continued his passion for writing. He is a recipient of several awards such as “Vyangya Shree Samman”, “Vageeshwari Samman”, “Madhya Pradesh Lekhak Sangh Samman” and “Sahitya Maneeshi Samman”.

He has published around 33 books in Hindi, out of which three collections of poems, thirteen novels, and twelve collections are in satire and humor. His latest novel – Americi Laloo “अमेरिकी लालू” will be published on September 4th. Please welcome Dr. Hari Joshi- A Hindi writer, satirist, novelist, and poet.

Listen to the interview:

Dr. Hari Joshi- a Hindi writer, satirist, novelist, and poet

During our conversation, he shared a few other snippets from his life:

Born in a remote village, Khudia, Hari Joshi grew up with ten siblings in a place lacking basic amenities such as a post office, police station, medical clinic etc. He spent the later part of his life at Harda and Bhopal. He has done a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.

His publications:

His works were later published in leading Hindi national magazines such as “Dharmyug”, “Saptahik Hindustan”, “Kadambini”, “Navneet” and many other reputed magazines. He also contributed to many leading Indian national dailies such as “Navbharat Times”, “Dainik Bhaskar”, “Nai Dunia”. In addition, he has authored about 20 books.

He faced many challenges in his writing career:

He wrote for several leading newspapers and magazines in Hindi. Unfortunately, he has been victimized by politicians several times for writing humor and satire. As a result, he has been transferred to many places and was suspended by Government employment to write a satirical article. But these challenges never stopped him from fulfilling his passion.
