Before I begin, let me confess here. This post was supposed to be published a couple of months back, but due to several reasons, it didn’t happen. Sometimes, we take our time to talk about others’ milestones, but we forget to talk about our milestones. You can say something similar happened with me. So, what am I talking about? It’s about my recent book – ‘Culinary Tales – Indian Recipes for Every Home Chef’, which I published this year. In 2016, I published my first book ‘A Girl In The New Town’. You can find the book here or by clicking on the sidebar on my blog. Coming to the second book in my author’ journey. By its title, it is pretty clear that it is a cook book. You can call it my cooking journey so far. My grand ma, mom, and sister have played a big role in my cooking experience. Not that they taught me how to cook but they have been an integral part of bringing Indian flavors into my life. This book is also available on KDP, or you can find the book by clicking on the sidebar on my blog. So, let me narrate my Culinary Tales.

“To Every Home Chef,
“Each one of us has many kitchen sagas filled with some sweet and sour memories. It must be a collection of mistakes, trials, and success. When we look back, it only brings a smile on our face. We wonder how far we have come experimenting on those trails. I, too, have many such moments that made my cooking journey exciting and memorable.
Join me on Culinary Tales and know my saga.”

About the book:
‘Culinary Tales – Indian Recipes for Every Home Chef’ is a collection of more than 80 recipes written while keeping every home chef in mind. Are you looking for options for starters, main course, side dishes, authentic desserts, cakes, Ice creams, drinks? This book has it all. All the recipes are vegetarian, and you don’t have to look for any special ingredient for making the dishes. I believe that our pantry is a treasure box. You don’t have to go anywhere to get anything different to cook something special.
Predominantly, ‘Culinary Tales’ is divided into six parts – Starters/Appetizers, Breakfast & Main course, Dips and Side dishes, Desserts & Authentic Festival Sweets, Ice Creams & Cakes, and Drinks. Along with the full range of recipes, you will find a handy conversion & measurement chart for the units, which will make your cooking easy. You will find the reasons behind using various spices in Indian cuisine. I often say we have ‘Dhanvantari’ (God of medicine) in our pantry. This section will tell you the nutritional value of every spice. You will also get a sneak peek into Indian Food. Not just this. It will also introduce you to many interesting facts related to some basic dishes like Daal-Chawal to some popular dishes like Sambhar, Daal Bati, Chaat, and Churma Ladoo, and many more. It will bring smile on your face while reading about my initial days of cooking.

The reason for writing this book:
I hardly have done any cooking before marriage. My cooking journey started after I got married and came to the USA. I made many mistakes while trying to understand the science behind cooking; trying to understand the combination of spices and flavors. I goofed up many times but learned a lot from this experience. Today, I can proudly say that I can cook not just the regular four-square meal but also many exotic dishes; state-specific delicacies along with International cuisine.
Like me (few years back), many other home chefs are newbies in the field of cooking. “When it comes to cooking, I always look for a way that allows me to spend less time in the kitchen but do not compromise on the taste and quality.” Having this idea in mind, I put together this book. ‘Culinary Tales – Indian Recipes for Every Home Chef’ is an effort to help you with the cooking experience and make it a pleasant journey.
A blurb from the book:
“To my readers and budding chefs:
It still surprises me that someone like me who was never into cooking is writing a recipe book. But as they say, time and experience teach you so many things. I would say the same had happened to me. When I came to the USA, I didn’t have my mom with me who can help me with the cooking doubts. I learned while making mistakes. I wanted to Indian flavors into my Kitchen. That’s how I started my cooking journey. Living in the USA introduced me to many other cuisines as well which I later tried in my kitchen.
This is my journey that I have enjoyed thoroughly. I hope you will also try out these recipes in your kitchen. I feel very happy to put together this book for all of you who are either excellent cooks or who have just started their cooking journey. Thank you for showing your love towards Culinary Tales.
Happy Cooking!!”
