My future after covid19: I want these simple yet cute moments in the future after covid19

During current situation, I cannot say what I should expect about the future or if we are allowed to have expectations from the future. Everything has gotten so unpredictable with a pandemic that long term thinking and planning has become too hard. We will have to take one day at a time.

Aane Wala Pal, Jane Wala Hai.

Ho Sake to Isme Zindagi Bitalo

Pal Jo Yeh Jane Wala Hai

( Gulzaar sahab gave us this mantra long time back)

But our human brain cannot stay still. It keeps on thinking about if not five years down the road but at least six months. Am I right? For today’s post, let me think about how I want to visualize my future when life gets back to normal. But before that let me take you through a few incidences I have experienced in the last few months.

#1: Venue: Indian Store

(here we have Indian stores where we get all Indian grocery and our regular stores carry other essentials). To know more about life in the USA, you can check out posts in the Musings category.

I was in the Indian store. While checking my list and making sure that I have got everything from the list, I overheared a conversation.

Husband: Ye cornflakes lena hai? (shall we get the cornflakes)

Wife: Kyo? Kya karenge? (why, what we will do with it?)

Husband: Chiwda banate hai fry karke. Atchha lagega sham ki chai ke sath. (let’s make the snack. It will go well with evening tea)

Wife: Arre kitna oily hota hai. Time lagega. (its oily and time taking)

Husband waited for a while and again said: Urad daal le lein? (shall we get Urad daal)

Wife: Kyo? Ghar pe daal hai. (why? we have other daals at home)

Husband: Daal makhani bana skte hai. (we can make daal makhani)

Wife: Daal Makhani kitani heavy hoti hai. Bad me kabhi (Daal Makhani is very heavy and not easy to digest. some other time)

While I was about to proceed towards the billing counter, this conversation brought a smile on my face. I couldn’t understand whose side I should take? – Husband whose cravings were at their highest level or wife who was trying to keep the cravings at the ground level.:) I can completely understand the wife’s state of mind. We have been cooking, making a variety of dishes at home and we all need a break.

On top of that, when someone starts suggesting new dishes while exploring at the store, this is natural. Well, a blogger in me got a topic to write in my pandemic diaries. I wish such cute conversations between couples should continue even after we start our regular life. We should have enough time for each other to have such sweet chit chats no matters if they happen at stores.

#2: Venue: Neighborhood Street

Every day I see kids on my street playing Cricket, Badminton with their siblings and parents. (we don’t have a lockdown, so we still have to liberty of stepping out for mini-walks.) I also play Badminton or sometimes cricket with my kiddos when I am not going on my walk. Seeing them make me feel have I done the same in non-corona days? I would like to continue this practice of playing with them without having the guilt of skipping my evening walk.

#3. Venue: Home

My kid’s birthdays fall in June. This time my three-year-old asked for Blippi Theme Cake, and his elder sister wanted Oreo Truffles with a few gourmet dishes. I like baking, but I usually don’t do the icing. Making a themed birthday cake was a challenge for me. The same goes for Oreo Truffle. I said, “Are you testing me when I can’t order a birthday cake?” Then a soft voice came saying “Aai, you can do it.” Luckily, my kiddos were happy and satisfied with the outcome. You can check out the recipe for Oreo Truffles. I want to thank my kids for trusting my baking skills and giving me a chance to make their day special. I want to make many such themed cakes for them in the future as well.

Why did I point out only these three incidences? Does that mean nothing else happened in the last five months? I have many tit-bits to share, but these were some random incidences that occurred, and they brought a smile on my face. I want to have many such random incidences at random places in the future as well. We all hope for a better and a happy tomorrow after covid19, we first have to make our today happy. It will happen but we should first try to make our today happy. What about you? Do you have any funny conversations to share? Or any particular moment to tell us?

Keep smiling!!:)
