I often feel that sometimes it takes a few seconds to feel the connection when we meet others. It doesn’t happen every time, but with a few people, the magic happens. We want to meet then often. Once we feel the connection, it is in our hands to continue that relationship. When we talk about relationships, couple relationships are one such area that we don’t speak openly about. We expect privacy; we want to keep things to ourselves. Sometimes, even if we need help, we continue to keep it to ourselves, thinking about the so-called privacy. But the truth is these things need to be discussed. They need to be talked. Today, on Baton Baton Mein Podcast, we will talk about Couple relationships and couple dynamics.
My guest has done a lot of research on this topic and she felt the need to give a platform to many people who want to talk about their feelings and seek advice from experts. She is in constant touch with experts who are always there to guide those who need professional help. Her experience comes from her conversation with marriage counselors, sexologists, psychologists. “Bonobology” is her website where she invites people to contribute towards this topic. Please welcome, Raksha Bharadia – editor of Chicken Soup For the Indian Souls, and founder of Bonobology – a platform that talks about the experience of love and couple relationship.
I had a wonderful time having a conversation with Raksha Bharadia. On Mother’s Gurukul, I don’t talk much about couple relations. So, it was indeed a thought-provoking discussion I had with Raksha. I have interviewed Raksha earlier also on Mother’s Gurukul. But having her as my guest on the show was a very different experience. I am sure you will love our conversation.
At Bonobology, now people can seek expert advice. They are offering online relationship counseling services, and their focus right now is on NRI’s. I am thankful to Bonobology and Raksha Bharadia to give this service to my NRI readers (if anyone is in need). So, if you know anyone living outside India and would like to take online counseling service, then use the promo code- GurukulBono (*code is case sensitive).

Well said, Alpana, people usually ignore to discuss the couple relationships, no surprise why openly? More than understanding the facts or just getting listened to privately, people afraid of getting judged by the other party. Great to know that the efforts of Raksha in this area. I will definitely be listening to the episode of Mrs. Raksha Bharadia.
Couple relationship is a cruise topic and should be discussed. I hope you will like the interview.

I listened to the podcast and it was really interesting. Couple Relationships is a complex situation, which we at India also have started becoming little aware of, especially for the retired couples due to the changing family structures.
You said it right Suhasini.
Its an amazing opportunity to open up to the solution that people.might face in the relationship.. This is a good way to break the idea of having privacy with relationship issues.

Thanks Abha.
People generally avoid talking about relationships in public. Sometimes people prefer to keep things personal. I haven’t heard about Bonobology and will check out your podcast.
Yes, and that need to be changed.
The Couple’s relationship is complicated as well as sophisticated also. A worth topic of discussion. Raksha is great and a mature woman.
Yes, she is.
Couple therapy is still considered taboo. High time people acknowledged that it is okay to seek help. I am surely going to check out your podcast. I just love your baton baton mein series, Alpana.
Yes Ritu. People need to speak up.
Great to know that the efforts of Raksha in this area. I will definitely be listening to the episode of Mrs. Raksha Bharadia.

Yeah.
We need to make more conversations around couple relationships. I always thought that many marriages were not what they seemed to be on the surface. Too many people torture themselves by not reaching out to professionals at the right time.
You are right. Seeking professional help is much needed in this area.
