Hold my hand mamma, we have a long way to go…

Walk alongside me, Mamma

And hold my little hand.

I have so many things to learn from you,

That I am yet to understand.

I need your gentle touch,

And your guidance to grow.

So, walk alongside me, Mamma,

We have a long way to go…

hold my hand mamma, we have a long way to go

For this picture prompt, I think nothing can be a better start than to quote these lines. The first thing that I noticed in the picture was how comfortable the baby is with his mom even underwater. And the second thing was how gently but carefully the mom is holding the baby. That’s what we mammas do.

“Behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because she is where yours begins.” -Mitch Albom

We carry the tiny miracle of God for 9 months taking utmost care of everything. The womb is a swimming pool for the baby. They float, they practice a lot of water gymnastics but they know that they are safe and are close, very close to their mother.

As the tiny human being grow, with each milestone, we grow as a mother. With their every single question, we become smarter. When they start to walk, they are not scared of standing up because they know their mamma will not let them fall. They climb on unexpected places knowing that their mamma will be there watching them and will save them in case of any danger. As they grow and become independent even though now they don’t need any support to walk or climb but they need moral support. Few things they can only say to their mom or sometimes they don’t even have to say it. She herself understands. No wonders we believe in the notion of “Matru Devo Bhav” so strongly.

No matters how old they are, Mamma’s gentle touch is something they all crave for. When they are tired and their mom runs her fingers through their hair, it’s like heaven to them. When they have to face an exam, few gentle and encouraging words from them works like magic. They can read manuals and understand the trickiest concept but when it comes to finding the unconditional love then everything boils down to only one person and that is our Mom.  Because…. “Life doesn’t come with a manual. It comes with a Mother.”
