INSTANT OATS DOSA Recipe

My 5 year old son is a very picky eater and making him eat dinner at night is a herculean task. He has his milk and dozes off. I tried a lot of recipes that would entice his taste buds to complete his dinner. No success!! He will take a bite or two then reject the whole meal. So when the following recipe was shared in my Facebook Group I just thought to give it a try.

Lo !! My son liked it and devoured it with much gusto!

It is very simple to make and can be made instantly.

 

Ingredients:

  • Powdered Oats – 1 cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour  (Aata)– ¼ cup
  • Rice Flour – ¼ cup
  • Gram flour (Besan) – 1 Tablespoon
  • Curd – 1 Tablespoon
  • Cilantro – a few sprigs (chopped)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Chopped onions and preferred veggies can also be added.

 

Method:

  • Mix all the ingredients together with a little of water.
  • The consistency should be that of a normal Dosa Batter

  • Pour out a ladle of batter on to a heated tava.
  • Drizzle oil.

  • Cook well on both sides and it is done.
  • It can be served with Tomato ketchup

 

Nutritional Information about Oats:

  • 100 gram of oats yields  389 KCal of energy.
  • Oats contain more soluble fiber than any other grain. It is low in saturated fat and very low in cholesterol and sodium.
  • It is rich in manganese and good source of thiamin, magnesium and phosphorous.
  • Oats are the only cereal containing a legume like protein as their storage protein.
  • Oats protein is equivalent in quantity to soy protein, meat, milk and egg protein.
