I often feel there are so many perks of being a writer…
Writer(s) think-s(he) read- write. Thats it? There is more to it. A writer observes and try to weave magic with words.
Simply being a curator of good ideas encourages deeper thinking, research, in order to find unique takes on topics that matter to you. Yes..that matters to you because then only you can write from your heart. Writing is a practice you can continue for the duration of your life. Writers inspire people to read. If you are going to have a purpose in life then this one has to be at the top of the list. At least for me, it is.
So, what are the perks of being a writer?
Writer and the best working environment:
Writers have the best working environment we can think off. A major advantage of being a writer is the ability to start working in your pajamas each morning :). As long as you have Internet access for research and a computer at your home. This makes your day flexible. You can take a break whenever you want.
For a writer, writing is an outlet:
People who are passionate about writing cannot imagine waiting to get the stories out of their heads. This itself brings us enormous reward and pleasure. Last week, while I was packing to evacuate due to hurricane, I was thinking about what can I write about this experience. 🙂 I was smiling on myself.
Writing and tough situations:
As I mentioned earlier, I was thinking about the topic I can write while I was packing, although I have not talked with anyone about what I will write, I was finally able to deal with it, work through the stress instead of trying to block it out.
Writers and communication:
Laziness with words creates difficulty in describing feelings, sharing experiences, and communicating with others. Fortunately, regular writing seems to offer some reprieve.
Writing and learning:
Apart fro the perk that we can work on flexible schedule, we have to be disciplined to create interesting written work. All this demands the writer to be receptive for learning and focused on finding new sources of information, inspiration, and insight.
Above all of these perks, the best thing writing has given me is tremendous satisfaction and a feeling of fulfillment. If you are a writer, then what is your perk of being a writer?
