Kids’ birthdays are always unique, not just for them but also for the parents. Planning for my kid’s birthdays has always been one of my favorite things. I enjoy every step of the process. It gives me another chance to relive my childhood days. I could have ordered it on Amazon, but birthdays are more when you get to plan the party according to your kid’s wish. And with the internet at our service, it has become doable. You only need to plan it well. And your special day is all set.
So far, I have planned princess, tea party, mickey mouse, fire truck, Blippi, Curious George, and emoji theme birthday parties for my kids. This year for his 7th birthday, my son asked for a minion birthday party. Here is how I planned for it.

Invitation card
Every party begins with an invitation. The preparation for the minion birthday party started with creating a Minion Invitation card. I always rely on canva for this. This is what the card looked like. I added birthday background music to it.
Minion cut-outs
The next step was to do cutting – a lot of cutting. I asked my son to do this part. Don’t think that kids cannot help you. If you give them an age-appropriate responsibility, they take pride in doing it. Since my son is very good at cutting shapes, I asked him to do the cutting part. I did those cut-outs, which had more than one minion figure. My son and I worked as a team. And he enjoyed the entire process. I used these cut-outs for making the party banner.
Thank you note
I also printed out a couple of thank-you notes using canva. I used them to stick it on the return gift.
Minion birthday party games
Any birthday party is incomplete without games. So I kept three simple games. One was Minion word search, Minion bingo, and the other was Word scramble.
Photo Booth
Now comes the fun part. So far, we have had Piñata. But this time, we decided to do something different. Our show stopper of the minion birthday party was the photo booth. I got a poster board and printed out a few big-size minion figures. I cut the inside of the poster leaving the frame. Then I glued it on the frame.
At the end of the party, the smile on the kid’s faces became memorable with the photo booth. Due to privacy reasons, I cannot share their pictures. If you haven’t tried making a photo booth at home, try it for your next party. I am 100% sure kids will love it. Personally, this was my favorite part of the minion birthday party.
Bonus ides: Minion Backdrop or door decoration. You’ll need some yellow and blue fabric to wrap your door. You can use scraps of black and white to create your favorite Minion’s facial features.

This seems like a new theme b’day party, Minions. You have mentioned all the points and how one can plan them accordingly. I feel themes like Hello kitty, Princess, boss baby, animals, etc. are the common ones now Minion theme is something new to me. I would love to try this at my daughter’s next b’day party.
It was a fun process preparing for his bday and more important, doing it all by ourselves.
