If you have followed my Instagram account recently, then you would know that I have been participating in the Blogchatter challenge #themindfulbreak hosted by Moderngypsy. I think, till date since I have opened my Insta account, Oct 15th– Oct 31st were the days when I was very active on Insta. I am not a person who spend hours on creating stories or posting twice a day on Insta. These days, brands look for a large following for collaborations but some how I do not fall in that category of active Instagrammers or you can say I don’t want to be an Instagrammer. I am a blogger and I want to be active on my blog. Anyways, talking about this challenge The Mindful Break, I found myself thinking out of the box. I found myself putting sincere efforts in looking for those things that make me happy. It can be as simple as enjoying my favorite food to something thoughtful as doing Meditation. As one day after other was passing by, I was surprised to see how simple things can give us happiness and we overlook them in our busy lifestyle. Writing a post was not a requirement of this challenge but I felt these Mindful practices definitely worth a post. So here I am with my 17 ways of taking a mindfulbreak.
#1: You Deserve the Best
How many times you felt “I can’t do it. This is not my sup of tea.”? But then something happens and you make up your mind to give it a try and then everything seems easy. “You Deserve the Best.” Nothing can stop you from getting what you want. It’s our mind which keep on wandering here and there and keep on thinking about the things that we can’t do. But if we have the positive attitude and readiness to work hard then we all deserve the best. There is no harm in trying. Failures re a part of life.
#2: Exercising
Why do we exercise? For many of us, it is to loose weight or if you are not towards the chubby side then you want to maintain that. For me, exercising is not just about loosing weight. It is about staying fit.
#3: We all enjoy the company of friends
I like to call my friends over time to time. Food is not our main focus. I try to keep that part simple and make the catching up part more fun. We chit chat, exchange jokes, light talks, discuss some serious issues. It feels so nice to have a relaxing conversation without having kids around (we all crave for such moments. Aren’t we?)
#4: Free your mind from negative thoughts. Rest will follow
I want to tell myself and my mind to take a break and let it free from any negative thoughts. Just like the last bird in the cage who us waiting to fly high, our mind need to learn to let go negative thoughts and fly high
#5: It is up to you to be thankful
It is in your hands to decide which way you want to go. You can change even a worst day into a best one with your thoughts and outlook.
#6: DIY day: I am a big DIY lover but these days I am not getting time to do a lot of this.
#7: We look up in the sky and try to spot the brightest star. But many times, we forget the look around us. There are many stars that brightens our lives with their presence.
#8: “OM” sound that has all the sounds of the Universe.
Sound which has the mystical effect. Sound which creates magical vibrations. Sound which is complete in itself. That the sound of “OM”. That’s the beginning and that’s the end.
#9: Let’s talk about parenting now.
We strive to become perfect parent. We try to give our kids as much comfort as we can but they stop valuing the perfect moments. Why can’t we practice some perfect moments instead of becoming a perfect parent.
#10: We all need breaks. Sometimes just a cup of coffee with a dear friend is more than enough to calm ourselves down.
It’s not the aroma of the coffee that makes us feel good but the company of our friend that gives us the comfort.
#11: Are you among those who ask for a sookhi poori after enjoying Pani Puri or yummy aloo tikki.
I am an all-time chaat fan. Anytime is pani-puri time for me and enjoying this is on the top of my to-do list whenever I visit India. Sometimes this is my mindfulbreak.
#12: I enjoy my morning tea with reading some blogs. When the whole house is quite and starting my day with some good reads.
#13: Friday evening is the time I get in the weekend mode.
I am a morning person but on Friday morning, I feel extra good that tomorrow I don’t have to wake up with the morning alarm.
#14: Enjoying a vacation with my family. Right now I cannot think of relaxing like shown in the pic as I have a busy toddler and a teenage so I am on my toes most of the time. I wish to have one such vacation at some point of time.
#15: I like everything about Diwali.
The light that brightens our home on Diwali should brightens our hearts as well. We should be able to follow the message that “AsatoMa SadGamaya” conveys to us.
#16: Baking: The aroma of freshly baked cakes gives a cozy feel to me. I like watching baking shows
#17 : Re-live childhood days with your kids
When was the last time you have enjoyed like a child? But we still have time. We can re-live those days with our kids.
We are so busy in our fast-paced life that days seems to pass by in jiffy. Sometimes we don’t even remember when was the last time we have relaxed without having a thought of what to be done next in out so-called to-do list. So, I am going to keep practicing these 17 ways of mindful break. What is your way of taking a mindful break?
