On January 16th,2020, my third creative baby was born. Since its conception, I had a name in my mind – Baton Baton Mein Podcast . It started with baby steps, achieving new milestones; today, it turned one. It has been an incredible journey, very fulfilling, and very satisfying. I want to write a lot, but I cannot find words to express my happiness. This one year didn’t feel that long. I was going through a completely new experience, getting to know new people. Adjusting my routine and making space for this new addition. It wasn’t very easy to find a balance between the older two and this one. But everything went well. Let’s pause and celebrate!!
A few months ago, when one of Baton Baton Mein Podcast episodes – वह करिए जिसमें आपको ख़ुशी मिलती है crossed 150 plays, I was very happy. At that point, 150 was the highest number I have got. And today, when the last episode of 2020 “२०२० ने मुझे क्या सिखाया” has crossed 1.2K plays, I am again happy. Icing on the cake was when I saw my name in the list of Finalists for the Orange Flower Awards for empowering podcasters.
Frankly speaking, these numbers do not matter a lot to me, but I won’t lie-they do give me a feel-good factor. But with this comes the responsibility of keeping up with these numbers and delivering quality content to my listeners. Starting Baton Baton Mein didn’t happen all of a sudden. It was a well-planned decision. I had no doubts that whether I will enjoy it or not. But being a creative platform, it is not always about me. It is about you – my listeners also. I am happy that I am able to bring new topics to you.
While I am nurturing Baton Baton Mein Podcast, being a parenting blogger, I see many similarities between a mothering my two kids and now my creative babies.
It needs care, love, and warmth
As I said, this is my third creative baby, I have the experience, but I cannot take it for granted. I cannot leave it unattended. I have to generate content consistently.
Keeps you on your toes
Thinking about new content and adjusting the recording into my schedule is nothing different than nurturing a baby. The best part is, you want to do it even if you feel that it’s tiring.
It motivates me
When I listen to my listeners’ voice messages, it motivates me. Just like when you hear words about your kid from his/her teachers, it encourages you.
There are some odd days when I get frustrated
I usually have my episodes ready before time, but sometimes, when I have too many things going on, and I am not able to record, then yes, it frustrates me. The same happens when you have many errands to run, and your baby is not letting you do it because s(he) also needs your time and attention, you feel irritated.
It forces me to think out of the box
During the pandemic, those who have been homeschooling (including myself) their kids know how much we have to bring out of the box activities to keep the learning and the interest going. Similarly, after I release any episode, I have to start brainstorming for the next episode.
It tests my patience
Recently, I have started an interview series, and believe me, it is not easy to get hold of the guest you want to come on the show. Finding them, contacting them, and then waiting for them to reply tests your patience. But I feel my parenting journey so far has increased my patience a lot. You can tune into the previous interviews here Richa Singh, Aditi Surana, and Kanak Khathuria.
This journey is beautiful and satisfying
Irrespective of all the challenges, the happiness, and satisfaction I get are priceless. When my guests sent me their testimonials, it was a wonderful feeling.
I invite you all to this birthday celebration. Please come and shower your love and blessings. You can send us your virtual wishes by subscribing to Baton Baton Mein Podcast and promising that you visit us regularly.

Congratulations on completing one year! For us our website, blog, podcast channels are our babies and the journey we share with it is like nurturing a baby and having such beautiful moments with it.
Absolutely.
Happy birthday!!
For any content creator, it is a pleasure to watch the creation being consumed by the audience for whom it was created. It is a truly satisfying experience. Of course, they need to be carefully nurtured to reach their full potential much like how kids are brought up.
Congratulations, and all the best for a dream run in the future!
