Tiny little palms – a perfect gift for your kid’s teacher

This is the second time, I made this craft with my daughter. Last time it was for teacher’s appreciation week. This time we made it for Christmas.  The reason why I like it is you can do so much with this. Your kid’s tiny palms holding a small gift make it so so special. This is a very good project to get your kids involved. They feel pride in choosing their choice of papers, embellishments. Just change the gift according to the occasion that we will be sticking between the palms and you are good to go.

You will need:

  • Printed scrapbook papers and few solid colored papers
  • Foam Stickers
  • Glitters
  • Colored pens or markers
  • Glue
  • Wired stems/ straws
  • Ribbon

Let’s start:

  • Trace out your kid’s palm on solid paper, cut them. Do the same thing with printed paper (printed side will go on the outer side)
  • Draw different shapes that you would like to go on your bouquet. I have used Star, Wreath, Bells, Christmas tree and Gingerbread man.
  • Decorate theses shapes as per your and your kid’s choice.
  • On the back side of each of the shapes that you have just decorated, glue the wired stem. (you can use thin straws, cover them with ribbon for a better look), cut of the excess length. Now glue the solid color paper on top of the step to give them a neat look.
  • Hold the stems together and tie with a wire.

  • Now, position the decorated palm cut outs in such a way as if you are holding something  in between(see the 1st picture), on the bottom palm place the tied bouquet and place the other cut out on the top. To stick it, you can use pop-ups or cello tape.
  • Tie with a ribbon.

For any other occasion, instead of bouquet, you can stick a compact mirror, hand sanitizer, hand lotion.
