In the previous post, we talked about creating opportunities for yourself. But sometimes you don’t know what you want the chance. And when you have it in front of you, you are clueless. When you come here, you can’t tell anyone. Your hobbies, passion, areas of interest, and skills are a few things that help you during the initial days. I guess it is common for everyone irrespective of where they are living. But how many of you have thought of living your passion? I know there are a lot of people these days who make vlogs, write blogs, set up their online shopping portal. Seeing them, we wonder how they have converted something simple to something fancy worth sharing. Whether it is sharing recipes or any unique talent, you can also among those people who can live your passion and share it with the rest of the world.
Follow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.
I have seen many start their YouTube channel or blog after they move abroad. In my opinion, there are two reasons for this. First is because they need some past time and another reason is through their vlogs, they can show life abroad. If their channel picks up, then they start make a decent earning from it. I truly respect the Youtuners because running a YouTube channel consistently needs a lot of effort, and sustaining in the virtual world is not easy. This was about vlogs. Here, I have seen many changing their hobbies or area of interest into a profession. And they don’t hesitate to share their talent with others.
I used to go to Friendship International – a non-profit organization. Baptism Ladies started it for immigrant spouses. I met ladies from different parts of the world. As the name goes, there was a sense of friendship and love in the environment. All these Baptism ladies were in their 50s and a few in the 60s. They used to conduct classes as per their hobbies. During that time, I attended Water coloring class, card making (this was my favorite class), beads jewelry making. Later I used to assist my teacher in card making class too. My teacher was so good at making cards and creating magic with scrap papers. She used to sell those cards on special occasions. I learned many techniques like printing, stamping, embossing, operating a cuddle bug, and many more. I learned how to make handmade cards, which looked the same as the store-bought cards. These ladies were taking their passion to the next level by happily sharing it with others.
These ladies taught me that if you are good at something, if that is your passion then you should share it with others. There is nothing You and Me there. By sharing it with others, you are not losing anything. No one is stealing your talent. You grow with them. You become a part of their success.
