Christmas Crafts and Gift Ideas

Christmas is almost around the corner. Cold weather has already set the mood for this upcoming festival. Last week me and my daughter spent some time working on a Candle Craft that she will be giving to her teacher as a Christmas gift. Another project that we did was decorating a plate charger. These can be used as a gift for your kid’s teacher or as a center piece. I thought of sharing these Christmas Crafts and Gift Ideas with you as this could be another option for you too.

Whenever it comes to giving gift to my daughter’s teacher, I always feel that the she should be involved while making it. I try to combine one or two hand made crafts with store bought gift. It gives a feel that the gift is from the student to the teacher and not from the parent to the teacher. This is what we made. You can use it as a center piece too.

This is how we made it:

You will need:

  • Candle Holder/Glass Jar
  • Candle
  • Adhesive stickers of your choice, Glitters
  • Twine (optional)

Let’s start:

  • Start decorating the Candle with your choice stickers. (for per-schooler you can use Colored Thump pins and then stick a pretty ribbon bow)
  • Cut a small piece of Twine and tie it around the Candle if you want.
  • Now decorate the Candle Holder/Jar with stickers, glitters.

DONE..so simple..right!!

Plate Charger:

Taking a plate and converting it into something special. This Plate Charger can be a great, less time consuming gift option. You can personalize it by adding some foam alphabets on it. Or just decorating it with your choice of embellishments.

You will need:

  • Plate Charger/ Any solid color plate (Plate charger are larger decorative plates used to dress up dinner tables at weddings, parties and other special events. They are usually larger than most common dinner plates.)
  • Flowers
  • Glitters

Decorate the plate:

  • Before gluing the flowers and glitters first arrange them. See if you like the pattern.
  • Now peel off the adhesive and stick them or glue them.

YOU ARE READY TO GO!!

  1. Hi,

Loved the ideas! If you could please tell where to get these embellishments used in many crafts here. Any store where I can get them for low price?

    Thanks.

    1. You should be able to find all this stuff at any Crafts store. I usually keep such embellishments in my crafts collection whenever I get a good price.
